開演を目前に会場から手拍子が巻き起こったり、メンバーを呼ぶ声が聞こえたり、それほどタワーオブパワーはたくさんの方に支持されているんだと実感。 演奏が始まると会場のテンションを一気に上げ心斎橋クラブ・クアトロを盛り上げていました。ホーン・セクション、音数の多い複雑なベース音に絡み付くドラム・ビートが絶妙なコンビネーションをみせるそのサウンドはもはや、芸術的な作品と同時に職人という気質も感じられた。会場にいる人は口々に「神の業」だと言っていたことが印象的だった。 私はファンク・ソウルなどの音楽はほとんど聞いたことはないが、こんなにも楽しい音楽があるんだと新たな視野の開拓となった。とても良い刺激になったタワーオブパワーのライブだった。 |
