ロンドンでは定期的にシューゲイザー・ナイトを開催している小規模なクラブがいくつかあるが、それほどシューゲイザーの影響を受けるバンドが沢山存在している。 アミューズメント・パークス・オン・ファイアもその仲間に入るのだが、彼らにはアンビエンスの影響もあるようでもある。
この日はキャパが200人ほどの小さいヴェニューだったのだが、そのこじんまりとした空間を超えて広がっていくような波のような音。 「轟音」と一口に呼ぶにはちょっと違うような気がした。ギターとキーボードが重なるこの「波」は、かつてのシューゲイザー達が作り出していた轟音よりももっと滑らかで、浸透してくる感じがした。この音の波の空間の中で漂っているうちに時間も場所も忘れるような感覚になってくる。 最前列には大ファンと思われる数人のグループがいたのだが、彼らは目を瞑ってメロディーに身を任せていた。すっかりトランス状態に入っていたようである。 comment and photos by emi |
