このアイドルワイルドのツアーにて、メインサポートとして同行していたのがこのザ・トワイライト・サッド。スコットランドはグラスゴー出身。シューゲイザーとアンビエントを足したような浮遊感のあるギターの轟音と、印象的なヴォーカルが特徴。ライブでは壮大感を増し、音に包まれる感覚を覚える。
ここ最近彼らの名前をよく聞くようになったが、話題だけで終わる感じだけではないというのがはっきりわかるようだった。決して一発で覚えられるようなキャッチーでスタイリッシュな音楽ではないのだが、しっかりと心に浸透してくる感じなのだ。時代の波にのって、短期間で売れるバンドがもてはやされる時代のなかで、長期戦に持ち込んで着実に人気を上げるタイプのバンドではないだろうか。これからが期待できるところである。 -->Idlewild comment and photos by emi |
