Figurines（フィギュアリーンズ）はデンマーク出身。オルタナティブな匂いがあるロック・バンドである。地元ではすでに3枚のアルバムを発表しているが、UKではセカンド・アルバムの『Skeleton（スケルトン）』が今年の5月にファースト・アルバムとして発売になっている。一部のUKメディアによるとKaiser Chiefs（カイザー・チーフス）が絶賛したことがきっかけになって注目を浴びることになったとの記事もあるようである。
彼らの曲はアメリカのオルタナティブ・ミュージックの影響を受けたつつ、それにスカンジナビアのソフトなテイストがブレンドされてるような感じである。今流行りのUKバンドには無いものがある。この日の観客は彼らのことはほとんど知らずに見に来た感じの人が多く、最初はおとなしく突っ立って見ていただけだったのだが、ライブが架橋に入ると踊りだす人たちも登場。もちろんアンコールもせがみ、大盛況で終了。 流行の枠にははまらず、更にはライブではレコーディングされた音よりもはるかにエネルギッシュで、『なんだかこいつらすごい良い』って思わせる要素大有りであった。カイザー・チーフスが褒めたからという話題性だけで売れるタイプの人たちではないのは確実である。 comment and photos by emi |
