当初2月発売を予定されていたセカンド・アルバムは、発売が延びに延びてしまい、ついに4月2日にやっと発売が正式決定。元々今回のツアーもアルバム発売に合わせて2月を予定していたのにこれも3月へと延期。ロンドンでは去年末に3回ほど小規模なライブをやったのだけれど、UK全土を回るツアーは本当に1年以上の
ブランクを経て久々のものとなった。
演奏されたセカンド・アルバムからの新曲はどれも去年のロンドンでのライブの時よりも音に厚みもシャープさも増していてすばらしかった。光輝いてる感じさえあった。今回のアルバムジャケットのデザインにもあるように、どこか光を放つものがあるのだ。そしてこの日のステージ・ライティングもすばらしく、まさに音と光の融合という感じだった。 この日はソールドアウトだった上に、こんなにぎっしりと観客が入っているスカラは初めて見たくらいに混みあっていた。来ていた人は本当に彼らのファンばかりというのを感じるほど、静かな曲の最中に後方でおしゃべりをしている人さえいなかった。本当に非の打ち所の無いほどすばらしい ライブだった。 comment and photos by emi |
