The Captains closed the night out with a solid set of poppy '60s inspired mod rock. The girls swooned as guitarist Hizashi walked out and blew a kiss and frontman Kizuhiko emerged with a rose in his hand. Clearly crowd favourites, the Captains had little problem getting the whole club to clap in unison as they kicked into their opening number. Playing to the crowd, the Sendai quartet continually waved their guitars over the audience and mugged for spectators by holding elaborate drawn out poses every chance they got. Showcasing material from their new album on Toshiba EMI, the lads were in fine form as they turned out a constant stream of danceable rock n' roll. Definitely a memorable night, this vintage valentine is one that will be cherished by boys and girls alike for years to come. |
