久方振りに観たモンハンはトレードマークの白装束から、全身印度僧侶風橙色という出で立ちに衣替えしていたが、彼らの醸す得体の知れなさ感に変わりはなかった。 聴いたこともない言語を発するバの酋長然とした存在感。いやに小振りなフレットレスベースを奇態な踊りで弾くケイタイモ・ウジャ・ビンビン。彼は見事なホーミーで喉まで鳴らす。他にスティールドラムやコンガ、フルート、ビブラフォンなど多彩な音が入り混じるが、民族音楽に染まることはなく、むしろロックでありアーバンギャルドであり、踊りであり、剥き出しの野性を軽金属のオブラートでくるんだような、原始的な未来SFを見ちゃったような...いや、モンハンを説明するなど野暮なこと。脳を解放して体験されよ。 2/24 fri.@大阪KNAVE 関西方面の方はこの機会に是非。 また、2/25 sat.@高円寺LINERでは、MONGHANGにてキーボード、フルート、ビブラフォン、メロディオン、パーカッションなどを操る才女、CHOKANこと石橋英子嬢によるソロアルバムがリリースされます。共演はもちろんMONGHANGと、彼女がドラム、ヴォーカルを担当する別バンドPANICSMILE。 comment and photos by nachi |
