余談・・・ ラスベガスを拠点に活動するThe Black Jetts。フロントマンであるゲイブと会うのは2度目である。昨年、ジャパン・ツアー2004を行ったSex Slaves(from NY)のセッション・メンバーとして来日したのが最初である。 その彼から突然日本ツアーの連絡を受けた。フジロック取材準備に追われ、梅雨がまだ抜けきらない7月のおわり。彼との再会を果たすため渋谷La.Mamaへ足を運んだ。 このバンドを牽引してきたのが、前回Sex Slavesのツアー・マネージャーだったNY在住のYasuyo。彼女は一人ながらも日本とアメリカのバンドを行き来させ奔走している。しかしその役割に疲れを感じる彼女の口から、もう辞めようかなという言葉がでた。まだツアーが始まったばかりだけに驚いた。以前、アメリカのバンドを日本でツアーさせるにあたっての相談を受けたことがあった。その後Sex Slavesが来日し、今回のThe Black Jettsに至った。 The Black Jettsツアーは東京、名古屋、神戸、そして東京の全7箇所。その間彼女の気持ちがどう変わったのかはわからない。ただ、海外をベースに活動する日本人を、私は強く応援したい。 photos and comment by ryota |
