"Exciting Music for Exciting People" - part2 -

The highlight of their concert came during "Chain-Shot to Have Some Fun". After an extended intro filled with a massive amount of seizure-inducing strobe lights, Agata kicked in with a round of blistering guitar licks that caused a small pit to break out up front. Building into an intense and frenzied amount of noise, the track briefly slowed before assaulting fans with its break-neck conclusion.

Melt Banana followed Tucker's extreme display of showmanship with an utterly brilliant performance of their own. Playing with enough volume to make a small child's head explode, the quartet tested the sanity of the crowd with their brain convulsing fusion of hardcore, electronica, punk, indie rock, and pop. Ripping through almost a dozen songs in 30 minutes, Yasuko O. and her band mates literally blew minds and ear drums with their powerful playing and unique musical style.

Illreme closed out the night with a showcase of his unusual hip hop stylings. Backed by a keyboardist, a DJ, and two guys standing behind tables filled with various sequencers and electronic toys the MC attempted to expand people's ideas of what hip hop is. Becoming increasingly stagnant with every "new", played out, bling-bling gangsta lovin' rapper, the genre is seemingly becoming less relevant with each passing year. Utilizing a wide variety of sporadic space and heavy dance hall, jungle, electronica, and rock beats, the quintet showed that if given the chance hip hop can still be a very electrifying and interesting type of music.

Boring music is made for boring people. For those looking to expand their musical tastes and treat their ears to something innovative and exciting check out one of a live show or an album from one of above artists Trust me, you'll be glad you did.
|
Energized by his backing band's music, Illreme paced and danced while spitting out his lyrics. Unable to contain his enthusiasm, he even hopped onto the floor at one point and ran across the club to the soundboard. Upon reaching his destination he quickly touched the side of the booth and then sprinted back as if he was in some sort of imaginary race with himself. Performing selections from the recently released Illreme.com, the band continually experimented with different elements of sound in order to mystify and enthral the dancing bodies up front.
