"Exciting Music for Exciting People" - part1 -
Too often modern music plays it safe. Record labels tend to seek out those doing things similar to artists who have had some kind of commercial success. Re-marketing something that's already established is much easier than trying to convince people that they should buy into something different and new. However, just because popular music is boring doesn't mean that all music follows this trend. In fact, Japan boasts one of the most exciting and innovative underground scenes in the world. Proof of this was seen tonight with Illreme, Melt Banana, and Tucker all unleashing wildly passionate sets that not only entertained, but challenged show-goers as well.

Quickly becoming bored he grabbed his bass and began plucking the strings. Tiring of this after a few short moments, he decided to play it with his teeth before making his way back to his turntables. Throwing on another record, the heavily perspiring artist began scratching with his head and moving the knobs on his mixer with his mouth. Ripping off his shirt, he kicked over his organ and jumped onto the floor to mosh by himself. After spending 30 seconds bumping into attendees and bouncing around, he beat on his banged up organ one last time before bowing. Trying to wrap their heads around what exactly they had witnessed over the last 20 minutes, the audience bore big smiles and looks of disbelief as they applauded the one-man band's crazy antics.
Tucker started things off by showing what happens when kids with ADD grow up and start playing music. The multi-talented madman kept the crowd entertained with in an insane show that featured turntables, bass, and organ. All hell broke loose on stage when he began spinning Jimi Hendrix's "Fire". Picking up a container of lighter fluid, he proceeded to douse his organ and then set it ablaze while a loop of "Let me stand next to your fire" blasted out of the speakers. With a row of flames dancing on the instrument, Tucker began to pound on the keys, creating what sounded like really twisted carnival music.
