| Highlights of the show included a mad bass and vocal jam by Juan on "Steal My Kisses." This track has happily become a staple in the band's set list -I say happily because it's my favorite track off their 1999 Burn To Shine album. And then there is Leon, whose antics on percussion are unforgettable. His Djembe jam on "Burn One Down" was breathtaking. |

As I mentioned earlier, the band does decide a basic set list for each show(see below), but I know that, in addition to these songs, they also performed "When It's Good," "When She Believes," "Woman In You,""Everything", "Amen Omen," "Blessed To Be A Witness" and more. Some of these were featured in Ben's mid-show soliloquy and some in the first acoustic encore. But the fact that Ben performed so many songs virtually solo is what gave the show such a personal, intimate feel. |

All in attendance were drawn in, like moths to a flame, mesmerized by Ben's singular presence at center stage. The last aural treat for the evening was a full-band version of With My Own Two Hands, deftly augmented by their now standard cover of Bob Marley's"War". Though I am sorry that they no longer perform Bob's "Concrete Jungle," I completely respect their reasons for doing so. This standard set change was made after the outbreak of the war in Iraq. Those of us present were indeed blessed to witness this show... |
