fOUL's show sounded like five different ones rapped up in one, two heavy metal, one confessional monologue, and the other two I can't even put my finger on. Eschewing any use of ordinary chord progressions for lead, the band crafts a sound both violent and compelling. Partially this is simply due to the charismatic presence of their front man. He holds an audience's attention with an electric energy and certain comfort about being on stage. During quiet moments he captured the crowd with quiet tales, and then released on them a barrage of noise that climaxed to a final smash-up of epic proportions. Next time, bring a seatbelt for those quick stops. |
