Considering the rambunctious nature of RFTC's music, it was strange to see the audience acting so tame and quiet all night. Luckily, Kemuri kicked them into high gear with a fantastic 30 minute showcase of punk and ska. Bounding on stage the group instantly had the crowd jumping and pumping their fists. A small circle pit started as the six piece ploughed their way through their first song. Grinning wildly, lead singer Fumio Ito high stepped around the stage as he sang. With all six members, and especially Ito, oozing so much charisma on stage, it's impossible not to have fun when watching one of their shows. I love watching the control that the extremely energetic Ito seems to have over people whenever he picks up a microphone.

| Not wanting to miss out on the good time being had, Reis picked up his guitar and came out on stage. Accompanied by a trio of Japanese musicians, Speedo showed why his band has rose to such prominence by ripping his way through a fast four song performance. Playing such RFTC classics as "Born in '69" and "Cut It Loose" his guitar screamed as he sang his lyrics in his oh so cool way. Thanking everyone for coming out and asking the audience to give it up the band he quickly retreated offstage after a mere fifteen minutes to sign autographs and chat with fans downstairs.

Showcasing punk, rockabilly, ska, and rock this was a great bill showing the true diversity of those who have been influenced by Rocket From The Crypt's awesome sounds. Still going strong, you can bet that the band will continue to inspire young groups for years to come.
