Touring with Kemuri in Hokkaido, I came accross with some local bands which are relatively unknown in the main land of Japan, but it was a thrilling experience to witness something hidden from the major press.  |
  ACCEL TRIBE in Asahikawa, I found, appeared to getting into a new direction with a touch of pretty Japanese taste in authentic sound of ska in some trax.Never know why calling themselves "Bathking", but this band I saw in Kushiro was a fresh one. Featuring 2 vocalists, or rappers!?, and playing hardcore rock, the kids aged maily 18 years old did give a big impact to the guys of Kemuri which gave lot wilder performances there. And in Sapporo, this Hige Gakudan, a band of beard and mustache, was the biggest surprise of all. Wearing black DABO-Shirts, and tatoos in thrir skin, the boys looked like a gang stars rather than a musician on stage, but the energy of their wild ska reminded me the Special I saw agea ago... |
