From FRF'02 to Electraglide '02
-- Part1 --
Returning to Japan for their second outing, the first being a short, yet gloriously sumptuous set at this year's FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL' on the Red Marquee Stage, the ever playful masters and international ambassadors of proggy house also known as X-PRESS 2 are set to land in Tokyo next week and slide into a much prized slot in ELECTRAGLIDE, the annual dance event of the winter here in Japan. Lucky us! And emphatically true if you have ever caught Ashley, Diesel and Rocky live. Indeed, the name fits as these three know how to get you moving in a hurry and to pure unimagineable ecstasy. Do not miss this train.
Having released MUZIKIZUM'(Skint/Sony) back on April 22 of this year, it has been a most delicious and non-"Lazy" year for these three close mates whom been duly given both accolades and opportunities from it and their continual ability to deliver liberating, infectious material to the masses in front of them the world over again and again and again. From the dropping calypso beat and recording scratching start of "Muzikizum" to the hypnotic sway coupled with David Byrne vocals of "Lazy" to the late night journeying of holding your prey of "I want you back" featuring Dieter Meier to the elation of the FUJI ROCK topper of "AC/DC," their immense range and 3-prong attack will undoubtedly find its way to allow you a much needed mental and physical release in gleeful bodily movement at this installment of ELECTRAGLIDE.
Able to snag a short chat with one third of the X-PRESS2 sonic concoction, I tapped into the ever wondrous and energetic mind of Ashley Beedle just one week prior to their much anticipated set alongside the likes of SASHA, ANDREW WEATHERALL, SQUAREPUSHER, TIM DELUXE, Y. SUNAHARA and legends beyond KRAFTWERK. Here's some of the bits and pieces for your happy digestion:
