今年Mikael Simpson（ミカエル・シンプソン）はデンマークのグラミー賞とも言われるDMA（Danish Music Awards）にて最優秀ソングライター賞を受賞。彼の音楽はレゲエを基本としたものがあったり、ダンスっぽいのもあったり、まったりとした緩やかな音楽があったりとバラエティー豊か。ライブではSølvstorm（スルストーム）というバンドを引き連れての演奏、そして先ほど出演のJens Unmackと同じく、母国語で歌う。エレクトロ・ミュージック界では名の知れるTrentemøller（トレンドゥムラー）ともコラボをしていて、この日はそのTrentemøllerも出演していることもあって、ステージではキーボードで参加していた。
バラエティー豊かな音楽スタイルであるとはいえ、どの曲も一貫してリラックスしたアティチュードがあり、ばらつきはぜんぜん感じさせない。なんだかとっても大人な音楽という感じさえあった。安定した演奏で、エキサイティングに客をあおったりもせず、それでも『わぉ』と言わせるものがある。 私的には彼らのライブを見てかなり気に入った。UKには存在しないであろう感じのバンドである。デンマーク語の歌詞なので、内容は理解できないが．．．それでもCDを購入したいと思った私であった。 -->Kashmir comment and photos by emi |
